You only get one chance

The last couple of weeks have been slow. A lot of reasons, principally Katie being ill and difficulties getting a new website up and running. The upshot is we are a long way off our target and its looking unlikely we will hit it at the moment with 24 days to go.

I listened to Tims videos on his website and seeing how well everyone else was doing sort of knocked me a bit sick. I feel we are missing out on the best chance we have ever had to grow this really fast.

We have to make people realise this in life generally, you only get one chance and if you dont take it, if you dont give it your all it goes and is gone for good.

This week we are going to speak to as many people as possible, get the message to as many as we can before it is too late........ for them.

Leading from the front

This week has been a consolidation week and looking at things afresh.

we have long recognised that we need to inspire our associates, they havent been as committed as us. Its easy to blame others but the truth is we need to be leading from the front. So far almost all of our volume has come from us direct. The secret of network marketing of course is the exponential growth that comes from getting the team on fire too. Tim Altvater is very good at inspiring those in his team and we have to follow his lead.

I saw some good quotes today about leadership particularly in Network Marketing.

The speed of the group is determined by the speed of the leader!
A manager tells others how to do it and sits back and watches.
A LEADER says, “Follow me” and shows his group how to do it!

Another quote is -

"I will persist until I succeed. I was not delivered unto this world in defeat, nor does failure course in my veins. I am not a sheep waiting to be prodded by my shepherd. I am a lion and I refuse to talk, to walk, or to sleep with the sheep. I will hear not those who weep and complain, for their disease is contagious. Let them join the sheep. The slaughterhouse of failure is NOT in my destiny!"

In that vein we are pushing ahead, already this is our best month ever, we are just 3customers away from the next level.

We are looking into a new way of bringing more people into the business, we understand that to an extent we need to be successful vefore others will fire into action, we need to show them that it can be done, it will be a lot easier to bring people on board when we have made it.

New period

Today see's the end of this business period, one which we have fallen behind target on.

Sometimes its hard to explain why things that worked last time weren't as succesful this time.

We are as committed as ever on this, we have worked as hard but had different results. The problem is that you cant look at a period in isolation, it is a constant growth and whilst you may have good weeks and bad weeks the key is that the trend is upwards.

Last month saw 3 new connectors buying the products, 2 personal trainers and a homeopath. All potentially very good and able to build the business on their own. Some of our team have been on holiday or away from the area because of work, they are all now back and we can start to help them kickstart their business.

One of the advantages of this business is also one of the things people find hard to grasp. It is unlike employment and too often we are caught up in the employee mode. We are used to doing X hours and getting paid X times £Y. We know what work we have done and how much money to expect. In this business sometimes we can do 100 hours and appear to get nothing, then go away from it for a week, do nothing and earn more money than ever. Our mentor Tim was telling us how they went touring around South America for several months doing no work in that time and came back to the biggest cheques ever.

So next month will be the month we reap the rewards for this months sowing as Jim Rohn would say.

Its fair to say a few tears of frustration have been shed this week, a week where seemingly nothing happened.

We realised that we were at a key moment, a defining moment. This is the moment that losers quit. Its these moments that you win in, not in the moments when everything goes your way.

Tomorrow marks a new period, it will be our best yet. We have a lot of irons in the fire, a lot of quality people are looking at this and deciding whether to join. Some of them will join, some wont. Of those that join we are in a position to support them to build their teams. Those that decide in a few months will kick them selves for not joining when the momentum was at its highest.

We are going to work with the connectors to help them develop a business.

We are going to help everyone in our team get to their goals.

How are we going to do this?

We are going to keep on doing what we do well, developing relationships, helping our team and one to one meetings but we are also going to work on a new and exciting strategy, we have the basics of it at the moment and have been working on them, on sunday we are having a strategy meeting with Tim to devise an overall strategy to really build on this and push us in a new direction opening it up to even more people.

Constant never ending improvement

This principle of Anthony Robbins' is repeated through a lot of success literature. I am reading 'the slight edge' and I think it holds the key to a lot of success. We are trying to achieve something amazing here in this challenge and show that you can earn money from this business very quickly, we are lucky I guess with our company because it is front loaded in the sense that you can start to earn money quickly.

Having said that it doesnt come easily always, we done a lot of work this week chasing people who had expressed an interest and trying to get a yes/no. We have learnt that our time is too important to work with people who arent committed. A lot of people like the idea of earning money from this business and/or sharing the unique products but thats as far as it goes, frankly some people we have been talking to just wont make it in this business, like anything else you need to put the effort in.

I remember something our mentor Tim Altvater said to us at the beginning. He said it can be a part time business or a full time business but it cant be a sometimes business. If you can only commit 10 hours a week to the business then you have to commit that time every weeek, not 10 hours this week and then another in 4 weeks time. Most people watch 2-3 hours a night of TV, if you cut that by an hour and commit that time and another 2 hours a day at the weekend you have your 10 hours, just stick to it.

The slight edge book explains it like this, every decision you make either takes you higher on the edge or lower. It wont harm if you miss a night nor will it make you rich if you do one hour, however doing that hour every night, night after night will make you rich.

Thats what we have been doing this week, we have been putting the time in every day. We havent seen immediate success this week, having said that we have signed another connector up who may refer to her patients once she has been taking the products, we have had good feed back to our new campaign of sending free mannabears out to connectors to try, we have made another retail sale to yet another connector - by connector I mean someone who is in a position to provide us with referals.

You never know when the work will pay off. Maybe this week we have spoken to 50 people who havent made a decision, a month later 10 of those 50 might decide the time is right to sign up. The secret is to keep going, keep doing the little easy stuff and the results will follow.

So keep at at it and in time you will have the financial lifestyle you desire, you will always get the lifestyle you deserve - you decide what you deserve.

How to earn money from home

I guess thats the point really, we are earning money in te comfort of our home and as we look out onto the bleak morning we are pretty grateful.

The best part of this business is that it gets easier, people start doing some of the work for you.

Like yesterday, we have 2 people saying that they want to join the team. This is not through any effort on our part, one of our associates is going on holiday next week and has recruited 2 people before she goes! So hopefully our team will have increased soon. We are also seeing another associate tonight to get him started, we aim to get him to sign up 2 this week. We are starting to see how the business grows exponentially, if each person just signs 2 people a week up you get to 1000 people in 10 weeks.

Meanwhile we are pressing on to sign another 2 oursleves this week, after all we cant have our associates beating us ;-)
